Developing Inclusive Programs (DIP) Model
- Developed a model to support practitioners and community members when developing programs for or supporting individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities (IDD).
- Performed thorough literature review of best clinical practice when supporting individuals with IDD and what factors often impact the engagement and performance of an individual with IDD. Factors include personal factors such as cognition, sensory needs, psychological state, and motor abilities and environmental factors such as culture, social support, and assistive technology.

- To investigate the effect of chronic illness and reduce the barriers and disparities for children with sickle-cell disease and brain tumors.
- Developing an educational program for caregivers of pediatric brain tumor survivors about cognitive changes experienced post-treatment.

Aims:
- Dr. Hilton’s research focus is on relationships between sensory responsiveness, motor and social impairment, and participation in life activities for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The expected outcome of her research is to inform clinical practice to better prepare individuals with ASD to become productive adults living meaningful and satisfying lives.
- Assisting in grading various measures, entering data and using SPSS, and helping prepare materials for experiments.
